Indiana Basketball

History

Indiana University is home to one of the most successful college basketball programs in history. The Hoosiers have won five NCAA Championships, including the 1981 title, and have been a regular in the NCAA Tournament since the 1940s. Indiana has also produced some of the game's greatest players, such as Isiah Thomas, Steve Alford, and Calbert Cheaney. The program is one of the winningest in college basketball, with over 1,600 wins and counting.

Traditions

Indiana basketball is known for its passionate fan base and long-standing traditions. The Hoosiers have a tradition of playing their home games at Assembly Hall, one of the most iconic venues in all of college basketball. Fans are also known for their "Hoosier Hysteria," where they cheer on their team with a unique chant. The school is also well-known for its "Crimson and Cream" colors, which have been part of the team's uniform since its inception.

Notable Players

Indiana has produced some of the greatest players in college basketball history. Isiah Thomas, Steve Alford, and Calbert Cheaney are just a few of the Hoosiers to make it to the NBA. Other NBA stars from Indiana include Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, Cody Zeller, and Jeff Teague. The school has also had a number of All-Americans, including George McGinnis, Alan Henderson, and Damon Bailey.

Coaching Staff

Indiana's current head coach is Archie Miller, who took over for Tom Crean in 2017. Miller has had success at Indiana, leading the Hoosiers to the NCAA Tournament in each of his first three seasons. He has also helped develop some of the team's young players, such as Romeo Langford and Trayce Jackson-Davis. The program is also well-supported by assistant coaches, such as Ed Schilling and Bruiser Flint.
